Hotel Palacio Azul Description
The Hotel Palacio Azul is, without doubt, one of the best hotels in Cienfuegos. The intimate environment and personalized service at the hotel is complemented by the extraordinary beauty of the city.
The hotel is right next to the sea and if you walk from the hotel, it’s only 10 minutes to the city center. This location is also ideal to be able to walk the Malecón of Cienfuegos.
The building (designed by a distinguished Italian architect Alfredo Fontana) was built as a private mansion between 1920 and 1921. Since then, it has been used for various purposes; it was finally converted into a hotel in 2004.
Palacio Azul (Blue Palace) was branded by Hoteles E (Encanto) which means it has been designed to meet the needs of the growing cultural tourism sector in Cuba while offering personalized service in an intimate environment.
The idea of Hotels E in Cuba is to restore buildings of architectural significance in urban areas and, while renovating the buildings, update them with modern amenities so that they can be used as hotels.
The Palacio Azul features only seven rooms, each named after a different flower. The Marilope, Azucena and Mariposa rooms are found on the first floor. The Orquídea, Dalia, Verbena and Margarita are situated on the second floor. All the rooms come with air conditioning, and satellite TV.
